A community thrives on the dedication of its volunteers, and the Cheer Works Canteen at Rock Glen is a shining example of this spirit. This article celebrates the local heroes who are making a significant difference, one smile and one meal at a time.

This community is filled with people who make a real difference, and we want to shine a spotlight on some of our local heroes! A huge thank you to the volunteers who have dedicated their time and energy to the Cheer Works Canteen at Rock Glen this season.
For the third summer in a row, Lisa S. and Shelly V. have been serving up more than just food, they've been serving up smiles. These two have been a constant presence, helping ensure the canteen runs smoothly. Their dedication has been key to the success of Cheer Works, an amazing organization that provides paid employment for people with intellectual disabilities in our community.
And when it comes to the popular Friday night BBQ fundraisers, Connie B. and Ginny P. are the stars of the show. They've been cooking up a storm, helping to raise crucial funds for Cheer Works. Their hard work and culinary skills are a huge part of what makes these events so successful.
The Cheer Works Canteen operates from May through Thanksgiving. This month, you can find them open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Make sure to stop by and show your support, and maybe grab a delicious BBQ meal at one of their Friday night fundraisers, held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Thank you, Lisa, Shelly, Connie, and Ginny. Your commitment to our community and your hard work at the Cheer Works Canteen truly embody the spirit of giving back.
