It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ronald “Wayne” Moffatt, age 79, of Sarnia, announce his passing after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer, at his home on January 15, 2026.
Wayne was the beloved son of the late Glen and Merlene Moffatt. He will live forever in the hearts of his loving wife of 52 years, Wendy Moffatt (née Knight). Cherished father of Tanya and Michael Gould, Charmaine Moffatt and Gary Smith, and Randy Moffatt and Liz Ferreira. Proud grandfather of Brittany and Nicolas Giorgini and Sephira Moffatt, and great-grandfather to Remington Girogini. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Marshall.
Wayne was a laid-back man who loved entertaining company with a beer in the garage. He enjoyed football, spending time with his family, and a competitive game of euchre. He will be deeply missed by his many family members, friends, and his beloved cat, Jack.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses in the Oncology Department at Bluewater Health for their compassionate care and upbeat, positive support throughout the past year.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 350 Albert St, Corunna.
