It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ann DeBoer (nee Huizinga), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was peacefully called home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on December 22, 2024, at the age of 88. Ann was born on October 6, 1936, in Friesland, the Netherlands, and immigrated to Canada with her family, where she built a warm and loving home centered around the love of God and her cherished family.
Ann was the devoted wife of the late William DeBoer (2012) and a loving and supportive mother to her six children: Wes (Dorothy), Mike (Grace), Steve (Debbie), Rick (Carol), John (Sarina), and Julie (Chuck) Vriesema. Ann’s heart was full of love for her 30 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren.
A member of Wyoming Christian Reformed Church, Ann lived a life of faith, kindness, and service. Her life was a testament to the power of love, the importance of family, and the peace found in God’s grace. She was known for her warm hospitality, her caring nature, and her unwavering dedication to her family and church community.
Friends and family are welcome for a visitation at the Wyoming Christian Reformed Church from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, December 26, 2024. A funeral service to celebrate Ann’s life will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Wyoming Christian Reformed Church, with a private interment prior to the service at Wyoming Cemetery.
