Ralph Joseph Chauvin of Wallaceburg passed away peacefully in Chatham on Friday, August 2, 2024 at the age of 88. Ralph was the son of the late Rosaire and Adess Rose (Bechard) Chauvin. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Marion Marguerite (Parkes) Chauvin in August of 2012. Loving father of the late Shelly Chauvin, Tracy Chauvin, Rob Chauvin and Sherry Kennedy and father-in-law of Kerry-Anne Davis (Tim) and Rick Devolder (Christa). Dear grandfather of Lance Pilon, Lee Pilon, Tosha Kennedy, Laurie Kennedy, Jessie Kennedy, Samantha Chauvin, Wyatt Chauvin, the late Luke Pilon and a great grandfather to many. Brother of Jimmy (Dale) Chauvin, Joyce (late William) Parkes, and the late Peter (Sarah) Chauvin, Rosaire Jr. (Violet) Chauvin, and Roy (Marie) Chauvin. Ralph, also known as Papa Smurf, had retired from Libbey Glass in the mould polishing department. He enjoyed walking the neighborhood, watching the Maple Leafs, swinging on his porch and spending time with his grandchildren. Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Tuesday, August 6 from 3 – 6 PM. Interment in Riverview Cemetery at a later date. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231.
