The city’s water distribution system has earned perfect marks for a third year in a row.
Ontario’s environment ministry conducted an unannounced inspection in May and granted perfect scores for water quality monitoring, training and technical things like logbooks, for a total grade of 100%.
Sarnia’s distribution system consists of nearly 500 kilometres of watermains made of iron, steel and plastic along with 2,700 fire hydrants.
Most of the city’s water supply comes from the Lambton Area Water Supply System plant, which draws water from Lake Huron where it outlets to the St. Clair River.
