Paul Wells, political editor of Maclean’s Magazine, received the Gold Cross of the Order of Merit from Poland’s ambassador May 14 at the National War Museum in Ottawa.

Wells was cited for his “lucidity and enthusiasm” in writing and promoting good international relations.

The Northern Collegiate grad, who has written two highly acclaimed books on Stephen Harper, has begun a three-volume set on the history of Canada since 1945.
