A Sarnia team will compete for a provincial championship when the Sarnia Lawn Bowling Club hosts the Ontario Novice Triples Championship.

The team of lead Mary Winter, vice Sandy Symes and skip Sue MacDonald recently won the women’s district playdowns in London and the right to represent the area.

The Germain Park club is hosting the Sept. 5-7 event with a welcome reception on Friday and the official opening ceremonies 8 a.m. Saturday.

Spectators are welcome at no charge.

Sixteen men’s and 16 women’s teams are arriving from across Ontario. Novice bowlers are those who have bowled less than five years.
