Pitch perfect: El Salvadoran team visits Sarnia

It wasn’t exactly the World Cup, but a team of boys aged 12 to 14 from El Salvador added a touch of international flare to local soccer recently.

Here, Christian Menjivar of the visitors takes possession of the ball during a July 3 match at Norm Perry Park, with Sarnia FC player Dean Palimaka (in red) looking on.

The El Salvadorans played in a mini-tournament, visited various attractions, attended Sarnia’s Canada Day parade and trained with Sarnia FC coaches while staying with local residents.
