William “Bill” Douglas at the age of 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was a retired member of Local 1256 Carpenter’s Union and a Past President of Branch 62 Legion in Sarnia. He was predeceased by his beloved grandson, Christopher Douglas, whom he greatly looked forward to reuniting with. Bill was also predeceased by his parents, Edward and Dorothy, as well as his sister Lynda and brother John.

Bill is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Margaret (Robinson), with whom he shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. He is also survived by his three children: Donald (Ange), Bill Jr. (Natalie), and Stacey (James).

He will be deeply missed by his cherished grandchildren, Kaylene, Ashley, Kristen, Amber, Brehndon and Tiffany, and by his great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Annabella, Blaire, Emma, Jayda, and Thomas. Bill is also survived by his brother Lawrence, his sisters-in-law Donna, Pat, and Lynda, and brother-in-law Paul, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended grandchildren, Carter, Brendon, Kaylynn, Nick, Emmett, Lyle, and Alexander.

Bill will be fondly remembered by his second family in Ireland: Andy and Eleanor Jones, Heather and Derek Manley, and their families.

He will also be missed and lovingly remembered as a father figure to Rick McLachlin and Tammey Leger.

Bill is one of the greatest losses of our lives, and he will be missed beyond words until we meet again.

Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 5:00 p.m.
