In 1954, she met the love of her life, Gunther Dietmar Fuchs at a youth group in Bavaria, Germany. Dietmar proposed through the mail after he had immigrated to Canada in 1954. Gisela's family and friends meant the world to her and she knew the importance of maintaining ties to all here and abroad. She would take many trips to visit family and friends in Germany, U.S. and Canada. She loved having family visits with her children and grandchildren.
