CMHA Lambton Kent moves Sarnia office to Lambton Shared Services Centre
The move keeps the agency in the downtown core and frees its former building to expand homelessness and addictions services.

People with appointments at CMHA Lambton Kent's Sarnia office now need to go to 162 Lochiel St., where the agency has moved into the lower level of the Lambton Shared Services Centre.
The new space is larger and more accessible than the former office at 210 Lochiel St., less than a block away. The building is fully accessible, with elevators in the lobby.
More than 8,000 people use CMHA Lambton Kent services and programs each year. CEO Melissa Sharpe-Harrigan said the move is meant to respond to that demand.
“With more than 8,000 people accessing CMHA Lambton Kent services and programs each year, this new welcoming, professional environment enables us to enhance client access, strengthen partnerships, and better serve our communities,” she said. “As demand grows, this move further positions us to address the evolving needs of our communities while expanding opportunities for partnership and innovation.”
Tim Heath, director of operations for Sarnia Lambton, said staying downtown was a priority.
“Relocating to the Lambton Shared Services Centre allows us to remain in Sarnia’s downtown core, in a location that is familiar and easily accessible for the people we serve,” he said. “Being located less than half a block from our previous office helps ensure a seamless transition for clients, while the additional space creates new opportunities for program and service delivery. Sharing a facility with key community partners also strengthens our ability to collaborate and connect people with the supports they need.”
CMHA Lambton Kent staff will keep a presence at the former site to direct people to the new office, and signs have been placed between the two buildings.
The 210 Lochiel St. building will continue as the Lambton HART Hub, which will allow its homelessness and addictions services to expand. CMHA Lambton Kent's other programs and services in Lambton and Kent counties remain in their current locations.
