Lambton Fall Colour & Craft Festival returns to Grand Bend this weekend

Money raised at the museum’s largest fundraiser will go toward the next phase of the Canatara Cabin Restoration Project.

More than 70 vendors will gather at Lambton Heritage Museum in Grand Bend this weekend for the Lambton Fall Colour & Craft Festival, the museum's largest fundraiser. The festival runs Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Proceeds will support the next phase of the Canatara Cabin Restoration Project. The first phase was completed earlier this year, and visitors can explore the cabin's first floor during the festival. A framed print donated by local artist Jeffrey George of Red Dog Art Studio will also go to silent auction. George will be at the festival as a vendor.

The juried artisan market features handmade goods, including:

  • Art and home décor
  • Bath products and candles
  • Clothing and apparel
  • Food and beverages
  • Jewelry
  • Needlework and textiles
  • Pottery
  • Signs
  • Woodworking

Families can take part in historical demonstrations and an autumn leaves-inspired craft led by the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery.

The weekend also marks the final two days of the feature exhibition Bluewaterland: Dive into the Depths, which explores the nautical history of Lake Huron and the St. Clair River.

“The Lambton Fall Colour & Craft Festival is our favourite annual fall tradition,” said Jessica Stevenson, marketing and events coordinator with Lambton County Museums and Archives. “Whether you want to get a head start on your holiday shopping, enjoy the beautiful fall colours, spend time together as a family, or catch Bluewaterland before it closes, the festival offers something for everyone.”

Admission is $5 cash per person. Children aged 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
