Sarnia-born country musician Scott Manery will launch a new series at The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts with an intimate solo performance on Friday, September 12th.
The show, titled "Scott Manery: Solo & Seated," is the first instalment of the new House Concert series and is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. In an announcement, the venue’s board chair, N. Leonard Segall, described the event as a "rare chance to catch Scott performing on his own in a program of his original songs".
Manery, a singer, songwriter, and guitarist, began playing at the age of eight. After earning a bachelor of arts in theatre arts from Brock University, he returned to Sarnia and has been a fixture in the local music scene ever since.
With his band, Scott Manery & The Barnburners, he has released five studio albums. The band has opened for major country acts including Brooks & Dunn, Keith Urban, and Toby Keith, as well as Canadian legends The Good Brothers. Manery is also a local radio personality, hosting "9 Hours North of Nashville" on CHOK.
According to Segall, the show is expected to sell out quickly.
Tickets can be purchased in person at the Lawrence House or through the centre's online store.
