Warrior Women charity concert coming to AJs Music Hall on October 23

Sarnia-Lambton will host the final stop of a groundbreaking six-city concert series raising funds for survivors of domestic abuse.

An innovative intersection of live music and social impact is heading to Sarnia this fall to raise both voices and vital funds for survivors of domestic violence. The Warrior Women concert and empowerment series will make its local stop on Friday, October 23 at AJ's Music Hall on Christina Street North.

The initiative is spearheaded by Rose Cora Perry, frontwoman of the award-winning rock band The Truth Untold. After years of touring and connecting with fellow musicians, Perry noticed a recurring, unsettling pattern of shared experiences involving discrimination in the music industry and domestic abuse behind closed doors.

Recent data highlights the systemic nature of these issues, with Statistics Canada reporting that intimate partner violence has increased by 18.1 percent in Ontario. Across the country, a woman is killed by her intimate partner approximately every five days.

In response, Perry launched the six-city tour to transform local music venues into spaces of community solidarity. The series showcases 24 female-fronted bands, six guest speakers, and 21 female-owned business partners across Southwestern Ontario, with proceeds going directly to Yellow Brick House to support emergency shelters and crisis services.

The Sarnia event features an entirely female-fronted lineup, starting with an opening set by Natasha Bayduk of TIB Electric. Attendees will also see performances by electro-pop rockers Little White Lies, hard rock outfit The Cards Were Dealt, psych-alt group Circle the City, folk-rock band New Moon Views, and Perry’s own band, The Truth Untold.

Local community partners supporting the event include Limitless! Family and Portrait Photography, Mandakani Yoga, Fit as a Female, Essence of Harmony, and Blue Monster Creative.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. for the 19-plus event, and advanced tickets are available online for $10.
