Sarnia has renewed a waterfront lease agreement with the owner of the Duc d’Orleans to moor the cruise ship downtown for the next five years.

The Duc has had an agreement with the city the past 20 years and has become a major tourist attraction. It’s also used by community groups and for special events and family celebrations.

The five-year deal covers a seawall dock and a storage area used to support the operation.

The city will get $6,432 the first year, with cost of living adjustments for the duration.
