A rally will be held on the steps of City Hall on Friday, Oct. 16 as part of the United Nation’s International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
Hosted by the local Poverty Reduction Network, the rally will stress the need for safe, affordable housing in the community.
The 12-noon gathering is also the kickoff for a “tent city” that will be set up throughout Lambton Mall the weekend of Oct. 16-18 by the Community Homelessness Initiatives Network.
