It is with heavy hearts the family of Tony Filipe announces his unexpected but peaceful passing at the age of 77 at home on February 29, 2024. Beloved husband of Paula Anger Filipe for 55 years. Loving father of Paula Maria (Nicolas) Catros of Whitby, ON, Tony (Cheryl) Filipe of Cornwall, ON, cherished papa to Alexa and Jason Catros, Noah, Evan and Tallulah Filipe. Dear brother to Lidia (Julio) Duarte of Sarnia, Lurdes (Joaquin) Filipe, Rosa (late Manuel) Filipe, Mario (Teresa) Filipe, Fernando (Matilde) Filipe all in Portugal. Brothers-in-law Kevin (Connie) Anger and Jeff (Diane) Anger of Michigan. Many nieces and nephews in Canada, Portugal and the USA. Tony was a member of the Labourers Local 1089 for 59 years as a member. Tony will be dearly missed by his friends and family. The family wishes to thank Bluewater Health Dialysis Clinic, LHSC Westmount mail dialysis unit and Victoria Hospital for their excellent care. Dr. Chris Greenesmith and Dr. Peter Blake, The Sarnia Police Service, Sarnia Fire and EMS for their care and compassion. As per Tony's request there will be no services. Cremation has taken place. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Bluewater Health Dialysis Clinic or the Sarnia Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
