Peacefully at Bluewater Health on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, Doug Fox passed away at the age of 82. Predeceased by his one true love, Maryke, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Cherished father of Karen (Wayne) Pedersen, and their children, Ryan and Rachel; and of Glen (Sandie) Fox, and their children, Michael (Sophie), Sarah, Katherine; and proud great-grandfather of Addison. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Vera Fox, and by his sister Jillian and her husband, Ted Holmes. Doug will be deeply missed by his family and many close friends. Doug retired from Lanxess, where he dedicated his early years working as a pipefitter. He was an avid scouter, providing 61 years of service. Doug’s other hobbies included being a philatelist (collector of stamps), a numismatist (collector of coins), and genealogist (researching family lineage). Doug was also a long-standing member of the Sarnia Church of Christ. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Sarnia. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
