Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, Franklin George Grant passed away at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Julie (née Cote) Grant. Loving father of Frank Jr. (Laurie), Ted (Lisa), Tim, and Troy. Proud grandfather of Jesse, Isaac, April, Jarod, Ashley, Joshua, and Elijah, and cherished great-grandfather of Jacob. Dear brother of Sharon (Jack), Paul (Dianne), Brenda (Ron), and Rick (Peggy). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews whom he adored. Predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Lillian Grant; his brothers Will, James (Arnie), Ken, Dave (Penny), and John (Charlotte); and his sisters Shirley, Beverly, and Darlene (Deedee) and by sisters and brothers in-law Beverly, Janice, Darlene, David Bell, James, David South.
Frank and Julie shared many happy years renovating homes together. He enjoyed playing bingo and the slots, and will be remembered for teasing his special “ladies group” at bingo. He also loved poker nights with his “little pigeons” (they know who they are!) and always managed to make a little “walking around money.” Frank cherished time with family—whether fishing with his boys, celebrating at gatherings, or sharing music through his singing, dancing, and guitar playing. His charm, quick wit, zest for life, and of course, his piercing blue eyes, will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME – London Line Chapel, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. with a time of tribute at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the Moose Lodge to celebrate Frank’s life. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Heart and Stroke Foundation (cheques only when donating at the funeral home please).
