It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Hardy on April 25, 2026, at Bluewater Health Sarnia at the age of 86.

Jim was loved and will be deeply missed by his wife and best friend (of 44 years) Brenda, two children Wayne Hardy (Sheril) and Cheryl Maxwell (Steve), four grandchildren Kassie Maxwell (Jen), Nick Maxwell (Skye), Madison Govier and Chase Hardy, three great grandchildren Harlow, Chandler and Daxton, brother-in law Tom Haggarty (Ethel), sister in-law Bonnie Perryman (Ted), many nieces and nephews, friend and mother of his children, Betty Anne Hardy and four legged friend Sammy. Predeceased by his parents Archie and Luella Hardy. In-laws Wilfred and Ruth Brock and Tom and Gerry Haggarty. Brother Ron Hardy. And infant daughter, Sandra Lee Hardy (1962).

Jim had a very successful career as an electrician and a teacher who taught electricity for over 30 years, at Walkerton H.S., Central Collegiate and St. Clair S.S. Teaching was a job he truly loved and the students loved him.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Polish Hall, 173 Exmouth St. in Sarnia, on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with shared memories being held at 4:00 p.m. Bar accepts CASH ONLY.

Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Sarnia Humane Society or St. Joseph’s Hospice Sarnia (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
