It is with profound sadness and deep gratitude that we announce the passing of Louise McQueen, who on September 3, 2025, left this world peacefully surrounded by family, love, and the echoes of a life beautifully lived.

Mom was the kind of person whose presence made everything feel steadier, warmer, and more possible. As a mother, she was a fierce protector and gentle guide and would be honest and sincere while being unambiguous raising us boys with love, wisdom, humour, and an unwavering belief in our potential. Her love and support poured generously into her grandchildren and great-grandson who she absolutely adored, becoming the heartbeat of the family. Her home was a sanctuary of stories, laughter, and the safe place that made you forget the world outside.

Mom’s impact was immeasurable. She leaves behind a family shaped by her wisdom. Our pilar of strength and voice of reason. Her legacy is stitched into past memories and the quiet strength she passed on to everyone lucky enough to know her. Mom shared a special bond with her granddaughters – Grandma Weezie, Gma, G-Unit. Never too busy for them and helped guide them into who they are today, she was always proud of who they have become. The bond she shared with her daughter-in-law was something beautiful to witness, their connection was a testament to the friendship and love they had together.

Then there was Speedy, her loyal, four-legged companion who brought her endless joy. Speedy wasn’t just a pet, he was family. Speedy was a constant source of comfort for mom. Their bond was pure and unwavering and both are now together once again.

Mom’s legacy stretched far beyond the family. For decades, she was a devoted school teacher with the Lambton Board of Education whose classroom was a place of wonder and growth. She had a gift for seeing the spark in every child and fanning it into flame. Her students remember her not just for the lessons she taught, but for the way she made them feel—valued, capable, and seen. She believed that education was not just about books, but about building character, curiosity, and kindness.

Mom hosted the best family gatherings and cooked liked no other. You would never leave her house hungry and her dishes were legendary in our family. Her food recipes were next to none and had a knack for turning simple ingredients into unforgettable meals. Mom’s recipes will be passed down as treasures and will be cherished for generations to come.

Louise is survived and will be sadly missed by her children Scott (Lea Ann) and Michael, her grandchildren Kirstie (Devin) and Sarah (Brayden) and her great-grandson Brodie. Special Aunt to Carolyn (Terry) Rose, Dave (Heather) Rose and Jeff (Marion) Rose as well as several great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Mary Happer, sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Alex Rose, and her in-laws Ernie and Marie McQueen.
