Mr. Laurence "Larry" Pettinger, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the age of 88.
Larry was born in London, Ontario and was a son of the late Eric and Jeanne (Maisonneuve) Pettinger.
Beloved husband of 63 years to Teenie (Floin) Pettinger.
Loving father of Leigh Ann (the late Brian) Grahlman and Lauren (Ron Alexander) Pettinger.
Sadly missed by his grandchildren Matthew Grahlman, Mikaela Grahlman, Olivia Alexander and Laryn Alexander.
Larry successfully owned and operated Pettinger's Supply Co Ltd, serving southwesten Ontario, an oil field and water well company, for 35 years. He loved all sports but baseball was his sport of choice having played for the London Nationals for several years and on 3 Ontario championships over the years. In his later years he loved golf and had a hole in one at Washakie Golf & RV in Michigan where he and Teenie spent their summers. Larry was inducted in to the Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. He also enjoyed the camaraderie at the CBD Club on Wednesday afternoons with the fellows. He loved his family, good conversation and a good cigar. In the words of Frank Sinatra "I did it my way".
The late Larry Pettinger rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
A private family service will be held. Cremation will follow.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Lung Association or Chatham-Kent Hospice may be left at the funeral home.
