With family by his side and surrounded by love, Gary Reo St. Jean passed away on October 1, 2026.
Gary was a man of many talents who enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, gardening, and cooking. He was also a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan and could always be counted on to cheer for his team. Gary was a painter by trade, a career he truly enjoyed. He also spent time working alongside his father as an ironworker.
Above all, family meant everything to Gary. He was the beloved husband of Donna for 48 years, loving father of Tiffany (late Todd) and Tyson, and incredibly proud grandfather of Darren, Austin, and Peyton. Gary loved his grandchildren with all his heart, and the time he spent with them was especially precious to him.
Gary will also be lovingly remembered by his mother, Sandra; brother, Keith (Janina); in-laws, Ted, Wendy (Tim), and Barb (Donnie); his best friends, Rick and Kathy, who Gary affectionately considered his “sister from another mister”; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Reo, and in-laws, Irene, Les and Johnny.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff and care teams at Victoria Hospital and the London Regional Cancer Program, as well as Dr. Dalilah Fortin, Gary’s thoracic surgeon, who was a rock for him throughout his difficult journey and surgery. They would also like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Crombeen and the VON staff, including Bernie, Matt, Angela, and Tracy, for the compassionate care and support shown to Gary and his family during this time. Special thanks are also extended to Ken Stothers for his kindness and support.
A Celebration of Gary's Life will be held Tuesday, October 13th, 2026 at the Corunna Legion from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
In honour of Gary’s memory, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice.
