With heavy hearts we regretfully announce the passing of Marian Louise Thompson (nee Welch), 71, peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife to Ron since 1974. Proud mother to Lisa (Steven Batty) Ferriss and proud grandma to Cody Thompson, and Bailey Batty. Dear aunt to Jennifer Welch and loved sister-in-law to Susan Coke, Cathy (Dale) McDonald, and Kathy Thompson. Predeceased by her parents, Ross Welch and Jack and Doris Stevens and her siblings Gerry and Andy (the late Bonnie) Welch and brother-in-law Larry Thompson.
Marian worked at Imperial Oil for 20 years before becoming the best grandma in the world. A lifelong Petrolia resident she loved her community and all her friends and family here.
A special thank you to nurse Sue at the Kidney Care Centre and all the staff for their dedicated and compassionate care over the last many years.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. from Needham-Jay Funeral Home 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Hillsdale Cemetery.
