It is with great sadness that the family of Joe Nicholas Wever announces his passing on December 22, 2024. He passed at the age of 66 from early-onset Alzheimer's.
Joe was a loving husband to Kathy for 40 years and a loving father to Sarah. Joe was born in Sarnia, Ontario and came from a large family of 9 siblings. He is predeceased by his parents, Joe and Gertrude (originally from Holland), brothers Jack and Barry and sisters Catherine and Margaret. He is survived by his remaining siblings Matt, John, Mary Ann, Mary Alice and Robert.
Joe worked hard all his life yet never lost his childlike, jovial nature. A portion of his career was spent working with the Ontario MNR, both in forest management and fire control. He also worked for many years as a lumber grader/supervisor in the forest industry.
He loved being out in nature. Hunting and ice fishing were some of his favourite pastimes. He loved spending time at the beach relaxing and soaking up the sun. Some of his favourite musicians were Jimmy Buffet, Enigma, and Pink Floyd. Road trips were always packed with good music and lots of laughter. He had an incredibly contagious laugh and his absence in his family’s life will be deeply and forever missed.
The family would like to thank all the staff of Vision Long Term Care in Sarnia for all the excellent and compassionate care Joe received.
As per Joe’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Sarnia Cremation Services.
