From London to Camlachie to Sarnia

It is with love and deep gratitude that we celebrate the life of Mary Lou Alyce Theresa Grace Katherine whose journey took her from London to the shores of Camlachie and finally to Sarnia.

Days on the lake were where Mary Lou’s dreams took shape – white sand, warm water, picnic lunches, and barbecues with real briquettes. With her flowing locks and piercing green eyes, she made every summer day feel effortless for her three children: Rosalind, Trish (Dale), and Kevin.

An entrepreneur at heart, Mary Lou later embraced city life, becoming the proud owner of a bowling centre and later founding a pool business that her daughter Trish would eventually carry forward and grow into a thriving family enterprise.

Her pride and joy were always her grandchildren – Rachel (Chris), Brett (Sophie), Garnet (Sara), Daniel (Katie), Alexis (Joshua) and Mason and, later, her great-grandchildren – Asher, Roran, Callen, Mackenzie, Brynlee and Kinsley – who brought her endless delight.

We would be remiss not to mention her cherished bond with her dear friend and kindred spirit, Kathy – partners in bowling tournaments, coffee catch-ups, and endless, free-spirited laughter. Her older brother and family statesman, Michael. As a family, we will always be incredibly grateful for the kindness and support from the Palliative Care Team at Bluewater Health and the many extended family members and friends who have woven joy in her journey. You know who you are and the memories you mutually created. We THANK YOU all.

Mary Lou had a tender heart for animals, especially rescue dogs. Her home became a haven for the complicated cases – a place of treats, love, and home-cooked meals.

Though we are saddened to say goodbye, Mary Lou’s spirit continues with us – in every shared meal, every good book, every apple pie and every glass of Pepsi raised in her memory.

Her love, strength, and grace will be forever woven into the fabric of our family story.
