The Sarnia Jr. Sting U11 team came up short in the championship game of the International Silver Stick tournament on Sunday, after a 4–1 result against the Napanee Tier 1 Stars in the finals.

The International Silver Stick is one of minor hockey’s most recognized tournaments, bringing together elite teams from across North America to compete through a multi-day round robin and playoff format. The Forest-hosted event marked the final stage of the Silver Stick pathway, with only top-performing teams advancing to the championship round.

Sarnia advanced to the finals after a competitive weekend that included strong performances against regional and cross-border opponents. The Jr. Sting faced Napanee earlier in the tournament and earned another matchup in Sunday’s final after both teams navigated tough semifinal games.

Napanee entered the championship game with momentum after defeating Hartland, Michigan 5–1 in the semifinals.

Despite the loss, the Jr. Sting’s run to the International Silver Stick final represents a strong showing on a high-profile stage, facing top-tier competition from across the region.

The Napanee Stars’ victory marked a historic milestone for their program, as they became the first U11 team from Napanee to capture an International Silver Stick title. The Stars have now won four tournaments this season, including events in Kitchener, Pembroke, Peterborough, and Forest.
