Peacefully at AgeCare in Parkhill on July 25, 2025 Ruth Stubbs passed away in her 84th year.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Jim Stubbs, in 2002. She is survived by her children Allen (Kathy) Stubbs and Lynn (Barry) Rawlings. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jacinda (Billy) Dudman, Jimmy (Morgan) Stubbs, Shaina (Jeff) Warner, Tyler (Katherine) Rawlings, and Tana (Justin) Lacey.
Ruth was blessed with great-grandchildren Griffen, Colton, Ari, Dani, Brooks, Harper, and Mia.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Doris Waite; her sister and brother-in-law, Mona and Allan Elliott; and her brother- and sister-in-law, Bob and Carolyn Stubbs, and Gail and Doug Patching. Ruth is survived by brother – and sister in law , Gary and Nancy Nickles and Ken and Kitty Stubbs. Ruth will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Ruth and Jim built the very popular “Fireside Inn” restaurant in Thedford, which they ran from 1977 to 2003. They downsized the restaurant in 1998 and added a Pro Hardware store. Always a busy lady, Ruth later took a Real Estate course and retired from that career in 2006.
The family would like to thank the nurses and PSWs for their kind and attentive care of Ruth during her three-year stay at AgeCare. Special thanks as well to Dr. Vagara- you are truly amazing.
Cremation has taken place, and as per Mom’s request, there will be no funeral.
