Dear Editor,

During the warm months, the Canadian and American flags are displayed at the Bluewater Bridge on both the Port Huron and Sarnia sides. These flags symbolize international friendship, cooperation, and shared values, fostering connection and goodwill between the communities.

Some Canadians have questioned the appropriateness of flying the American flag amid heightened tensions with the U.S., acknowledging it as a sensitive and complex issue.

I believe these flags should remain in place as a symbol of our commitment to diplomacy and our belief in building bridges, even during times of tension. Promoting understanding and cooperation is essential for progress, and I'm hopeful that the issues we face will be resolved.
