LYLANDER, Kari

With family by his side on Friday, March 8, 2024, Kari Uolevi Lylander, 78, of Petrolia, passed away peacefully at C.E.E. Hospital of Bluewater Health, Petrolia. Kari was the husband of Dorothy (nee Barnes) for 54 years. He will be missed by his sons, Kari Steven Lylander, Scott Lylander and his wife Julie, his grandchildren Montana, Jayden and Darren Lylander. He will be greatly missed by his sister Hillevi Dudka (the late Henry), and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Ted and Faye Barnes, the late Ed and Ila Barnes, Shirley and the late John Hall, Susan and Julien Hamel and the late Richard Barnes. Predeceased by his parents, Aino (the late Aarne) Vuorio and Eero Lylander and Robert and Isabelle Barnes. Kari also has many nieces and nephews who will miss him at all the family gatherings.

Kari worked at Polysar for 27 years, as a stationery engineer. When he retired in 2003, he became a licensed minister of New Life Assembly. He enjoyed the years of bus driving for Hull Bus Lines. Kari’s passion was ministering to the senior population at Nursing Homes. He scheduled ministers for that ministry. He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, and pappa.

Visitors will be received by the family at 9:30 a.m. of Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Wyoming Chapel of Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 650 Broadway St. Wyoming, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will be in Hillsdale Cemetery.
