Sting heading back to PASA for Game 5 against Guelph

The Sarnia Sting will be back at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena Friday night for Game 5 of their OHL Western Conference Quarter-Final playoff series against the Guelph Storm after falling just short in a 5-4 loss Thursday.

The Storm led 2-0 in the first before Easton Wainwright put the Sting on the board.

Guelph would add two more, heading into the third period with a 4-1 lead.

Brenden Anderson scored his second goal of the series, followed by another from Cooper Way.

The Storm hung on to their lead, adding an empty-netter to make it 5-3, while the Sting’s Tyson Doucette scored in the final seconds of the game, ending in a 5-4 finish for Guelph, forcing a Game 5 and avoiding a sweep from the Sting.

Sarnia racked up 28 shots on goal, to Guelph’s 18.

The Sting lead the best-of-seven series 3-1.

The Sting were without Nashville Predators prospect Nolan Burke, as well as Nolan Dillingham, who’s serving a four-game suspension.
