High schools shine at tennis championships

Two Sarnia high schools, Northern Collegiate and St. Patrick’s, finished first and third respectively at the Lambton-Kent high school tennis championships on Oct. 14.

Andrew Davies of Northern won the boys singles crown, while Riley Bore of Northern was third.

Elise McInnis of St. Pat’s took the girls singles title, while Meaghan Gregoris of St. Clair Secondary was third.

In girls doubles, the St. Pat’s sister team of Catherine and Clara Rastin placed first, and Lyndsey Osler and Courtney Tremain of Northern took third.

Northern’s Keli Grant and Raj Dighe were second in mixed doubles, and in boys doubles, Priyank Patel and Ayush Namboothiri of Northern were fourth.

The matches were played at the Sarnia Riding Club and Sarnia Tennis Club.

The top four in each division have qualified for the Southwestern Ontario championships Oct. 22 in Windsor.
