The volunteer-run gallery recently distributed five more $1,000 scholarships to local students hoping to pursue a post-secondary education in the arts.
That pushed to more than $100,000 the amount the small organization has distributed to students since its inception in 1982.
A committee of art teachers holds a juried competition to select the winners each year.
