After 28 years with the organization, including the past seven as chief executive, Morrison will step down in September while the board searches for her successor.

Alison Morrison, chief executive officer of Pathways Health Centre for Children, will retire effective Sept. 7, 2026, the organization's board of directors announced this week.
Pathways, located on Murphy Road in Sarnia, is one of 22 children's treatment centres in Ontario. It provides a continuum of rehabilitation and support services in the community, along with an on-site integrated childcare service and a therapeutic pool.
Morrison joined Pathways in 1998 as a speech-language pathologist, providing front-line service for many years before moving into leadership roles. She has served as CEO for the past seven years.
Under her leadership, Pathways navigated the COVID-19 pandemic, championed a refurbishment of its therapeutic pool, marked the organization's 50th anniversary and developed a new strategic plan. The organization also laid the groundwork for a possible future expansion during her tenure.
Pathways and its staff received several recognitions during this period, including accreditation with exemplary standing and Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Business Achievement Awards for "Cool place to work" and "Non-profit of the year."
"We have appreciated Alison's thoughtful and caring leadership," said Alison Mahon, chair of the board. "She has put her heart and soul into Pathways and with her team, she has created an organization that continues to adapt and look at strategies to grow and continually meet the needs of children and families. We wish Alison all the best in the next stage of her life."
"I carry a deep sense of pride in the work of Pathways," Morrison said. "It has been a privilege to be part of such a skilled, dedicated and compassionate team. Together, we have navigated complexity, grown our impact, and strengthened the care we provide. While I look forward with excitement to what is ahead for me, I am also excited to see how this organization will continue to grow, innovate, and deliver excellent care into the future."
The board has engaged an executive search partner to lead the recruitment of the organization's next chief executive officer. Further details on the opportunity are expected to be available shortly.
