Sarnia is providing a financial break to four local festivals and non-profit events.

Greekfest, the San Rocco Festival, the Terry Fox Run and the Celebration of Lights will each receive a 25% discount on operating fees the city charges groups to host events.

Each had to meet specific criteria, including being located on municipal lands and accessible and inclusive to the public.

Sarnia recently revised its festivals and events policies and set up special funds following complaints from groups about the way city fees were inconsistently charged.
