All-clear issued at NOVA Corunna site

In an alert from the Aamjiwnaang Notification System, the CODE 8 — which indicates an internal emergency response event — notified a ‘loss of containment in the DPG unit – Benzene’ at NOVA Corunna, 785 Petrolia Line, around 4:30 p.m.

A separate alert from the company issued around 5:10 p.m. said the facility was responding to a ‘hydrocarbon release.’

“Air monitoring is underway. The release was immediately isolated and personnel are actively working on returning the site to normal operating conditions.”

An all-clear has since been issued.
