The Sarnia Imperials’ 2019 season has come to a disappointing conclusion.

The 1936 Grey Cup champions had their playoff dreams dashed as they fell to the Oakville Longhorns 41-0 on July 20 in Northern Football Conference semi-final play.

The loss on the road comes after the Imperials garnered momentum from a three-game win streak in July that carried them into the post-season.

They defeated the Tri-City Outlaws 41-0 July 13, and Sault Steelers 34-17 on July 6.

They finished 6-2 on the season.

The NFC finals happened last weekend between 2018 defending champions GTA All Stars and Hamilton’s Steel City Patriots.
