Not even a pandemic could stop the Nightingale Chorus.

A large group has come together to perform 32 songs across the community this holiday season to mark the 25th year for the local choral tradition.

Singers wearing masks will perform at area nursing and long-term care homes, Bluewater Health, and neighborhoods throughout Sarnia-Lambton, said the Bluewater Health Foundation, which has partnered with founder Carrie Beauchamp to keep the normally on-stage event going.

Performers will use eight-foot long ribbons to assure they stay apart at all times, the Foundation said. Lambton Public Health has approved the “Christmas Ribbon” performances.

Outdoor show will be coordinated with long-term care homes, with the locations announced last minute to avoid the gathering of large crowds.

Residential viewers are encouraged to stay in their homes or on the porch to maintain a safe distance from performers. If Lambton County goes into “orange” status the shows will be cancelled.

A Facebook group will share live streaming of performances at www.facebook.com/groups/381400969809792

Donations to The Christmas Ribbon will support the music therapy program at Bluewater Health and can be made at www.justgiving.com/campaign/thechristmasribbon.
