The Western Ontario regional FireFit Championships are coming to Lambton College this weekend.

The three-day showcase features male and female competitors in full firefighting gear competing at tasks commonly performed in emergency situations.

It’s free for the public to attend and includes food trucks, refreshments and a mini-course set up for children to try.

The weekend begins with a corporate challenge on Friday, Sept. 6, with individual FireFit races on Saturday and relay and tandem events Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m. both days.

Among those competing is Sarnia’s own Ian VanReenen, the reigning Canadian and World Men’s champion.
