Sarnia Community Foundation issues final call for fall grant applications
Organizations addressing local health, education, and infrastructure needs have until July 31 to apply for the foundation’s fall Community Impact Grants.

The Sarnia Community Foundation (SCF) is issuing a final call for applications to its fall Community Impact Grants program. Applications will be accepted until Friday, July 31, 2026, at 4 p.m.
The SCF's Community Impact Grants Committee is seeking innovative projects that align with one of five United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
- Good health and wellbeing, including physical health, mental health, social connection, seniors' health, and children and youth
- Quality education, including early childhood, school-aged support, youth and skills, and adult learning
- Industry, innovation and infrastructure, including access to technology, community infrastructure, and workforce training
- Reduced inequalities, including disability and accessibility, Indigenous inclusion, and newcomers and diversity
- Peace, justice and strong institutions, including community safety and conflict mediation
To be eligible, organizations must be a qualified donee under Canada Revenue Agency rules, generally meaning a registered charity, amateur athletic association, or municipality. Applicants must also have been operating for at least one full year, provide services that directly benefit Lambton County residents, receive volunteer support from the community, and submit all requested information with their application.
The application can be downloaded from the SCF website at sarniacommunityfoundation.ca, then completed and emailed or dropped off to the SCF office at 109 Durand Street, Sarnia.
Executive director Mike Barron said the foundation is excited to offer two granting cycles this year, citing significant growth over the past two years. He thanked SCF's donors and fund holders, saying their support helps make the community better for the future.
Residents with questions about eligibility criteria or the application process can call the SCF office at 519-332-2588.
Over the past 43 years, the SCF has given more than $14 million to community organizations and projects across Sarnia-Lambton. The foundation supports a range of charitable work in the community, including establishing and maintaining donor endowment funds, granting to community projects and programs, supporting local leadership initiatives, and administering donor-driven scholarships.
