Iron Eagle Community Warriors says its food supplies are running low as volunteers prepare for another free community luncheon Saturday. The Sarnia group is asking residents for food donations to help keep its weekly outreach program stocked.

A Sarnia group that provides free weekly meals to people in need is asking the community for help after its food supplies began running low.
Iron Eagle Community Warriors says donations are urgently needed to keep its community food program stocked as it prepares for another free luncheon Saturday.
The volunteer-run initiative provides food, drinks, snacks, clothing and other support to people experiencing homelessness, families struggling financially and anyone else who needs help.
Its next luncheon is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26 from noon to 3 p.m., or while supplies last, at 142 Stuart St.
The group has increasingly made the luncheon a weekly event in response to what organizers describe as ongoing need in the community.
Last Saturday’s planned outdoor luncheon was disrupted by rain, but volunteers instead packed lunches containing subs, fresh fruit and snacks and delivered them directly to people experiencing homelessness around the city.
Iron Eagle is now asking residents who are able to help replenish supplies. Non-perishable food can be dropped in Coach Rob’s Food Drive Box at Iron Eagle Gyms, 140 Front St. S., Unit A. The group is also accepting other food and supply donations by arrangement. Current food-drive and donation information
People interested in donating or volunteering can contact Coach Rob Pelletier at [email protected] or 250-501-1150. Additional volunteer and donation information is available through the group’s website. Volunteer or donate to Iron Eagle Community Warriors
The meals and outreach are supported through community donations and volunteers, along with contributions from local businesses.
Saturday’s luncheon is open to anyone who needs it.
