Sarnia, Point Edward receive third-quarter gaming revenue

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has handed out municipal revenue generated in the third-quarter – Oct. 1 to Dec. 31.

Sarnia received $99,712 for hosting the Gateway Casinos at Hiawatha Horse Park on the Golden Mile.

The Village of Point Edward received a second-quarter non-tax revenue payment of $421,424 for hosting the Starlight Casino on the waterfront.

Over the past two decades Sarnia and has received more than $27 million and Point Edward more than $50 million in gaming revenue.

Payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site, the OLG stated.
