Scouts honour local war heroes

Scouts Aiden Simmons, Kelland Griffin and Christopher Dagg (back row) along with Beaver Scout Henry Ramon and Cub Scout Ben Crombeen, form an honour guard at a plaque unveiled Saturday in Heritage Park on Nov. 8.

The plaque commemorates the Scouts project, Trees of Remembrance, that saw local Scouts plant 102 trees in Heritage Park – one in memory of each of the 102 soldiers from Sarnia who died in WW I. At the conclusion of a Remembrance ceremony, Scouts placed Canadian flags at the base of each of the trees.
