Palmino Iacobelli passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Martha Iacobelli for 58 years. Loving father of Maria (deceased) and her husband Jeff, Paul, Ersilio and his wife Stacy, Teresa and her husband Chad. Dearest Beppa to Olivia, Gabriella and Hazel. Dear brother of Bianca (Mario) Di Filippo, Italy, late Gino (Maria) Iacobelli, Sarnia, late Anna (Antonio) Fazio, Sarnia, late Amerigo & Gelsomina Iacobelli, Sarnia, late Rosa & Luigi Morelli, France, late Elio and Ana Iacobelli, Venezuela, late Orfeo (Giulia) Iacobelli, Sarnia, late Lidorina & Terenzio Desena, Sarnia. Pre-deceased by his parents Ersilio and Domenica Iacobelli, and his infant brother Aldino. Survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Palmino was born in Vicalvi, Frosinone, Italy, and as a teen he apprenticed as a carpenter. At twenty years old he immigrated to Canada, and later Detroit where he married and started a family before eventually planting roots in Sarnia. Palmino took pride in his trade and his work lives on in houses built in Sarnia, Windsor and Detroit, including homes for his own family that he built with love. Palmino enjoyed the essential pleasures in life – food, drink, friends, family, and travel. He was curious, intelligent, generous, and unassuming. He was quick with a joke and often laughed hardest at them himself.
Special thanks for the exceptional care offered by the staff of the telemetry, ICU and palliative care units at Bluewater Health. Palmino, Dad, Beppa, we will miss you, but we take comfort in knowing that you are free of pain and walking freely again among your loved ones.
