Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 26, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia, Jean Fulton Irvine (nee Barr) passed away at the age of 91. Jean was predeceased by her husband Douglas Hamilton Irvine, sisters Agnes (Ada) and Matilda (Tid), brothers Hugh and William (Billy) and parents James and Catherine Fleming Barr. Jean is survived by her children Katherine (Kay) and John, and her sister Mary Kerr (Maureen) as well as several nieces and nephews. A woman of great dignity, style, and class, Jean had a passion for interior design, antiques, classical music, and gardening. She also enjoyed reading and was an avid fan of Coronation Street. Jean had a fondness for dogs and cats and shared her life and home with many over the years, including several champion wire fox terriers which she bred and exhibited. The family would like to thank Dr. Lilly and the wonderful staff and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice for their kind and gentle care.
Cremation will take place with interment to follow at a later date in Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, Scotland, as Jean returns home to her family in Scotland and the beloved village where she was born.
