The Sarnia Rapids swim team had a successful showing at the WAC Invitational in Windsor this month.
The Sarnia Rapids swim team had a successful showing at the WAC Invitational in Windsor this month.
“There were [more than] 700 swimmers at this meet and our club, even though small in size, always competes,” stated club vice president Jeff Jones, pointing to 16 swimmers who racked up a total of 34 top-ten finishes. "We medalled in multiple events and some swimmers qualified for provincial level meets.”
Medal winners include:
Aili Girardi – gold (100m freestyle); silver (100m backstroke); and bronze (100m butterfly)
Lucas Jones – silver (500m Freestyle)
Isabelle Robert – bronze (200m Freestyle)
Matteo Fanelli qualified for the Ontario Festivals Championships in 50m freestyle.
Aili Girardi qualified for the Ontario Youth Junior Championships in 100m freestyle.
